6.4 D2 DATA

The Stage D2 data are the monthly averages and summary statistics of the Stage D1 quantities. They provide a more compact summary of the cloud results containing the statistics thought to be most important at this time. One year of D2 data is contained on an IBM 3480 cartridge. D2 data have a volume of approximately 8.3 Mbytes per data month. The ICA archives the D2 data on IBM 3480 cartridges. These data are also available through the Langley DAAC and can be downloaded directly from the Internet.
