This document is the combined effort of several people in NOAA/NESDIS. The personnel from the Office of Research and Application's Climate Research and Applications Division (CRAD) Land Surface Team were extremely helpful in checking the text for accuracy and suggesting changes. I especially wish to express my appreciation to Dr. Garik Gutman (NESDIS/ORA/ CRAD) and Steve Olson (Research and Data Systems Corporation) for their direction and guidance on this document.
